Go Pick A Tree

I have much admiration for anyone doing the Fall Cure this year, and I have been quite the lurker spying on everyone’s progress. The end of September also marks the wrap up of Adornment Month.

One of the simplest, and most frequently overlooked, ways to adorn your home is to bring something from the outside in. And despite the popularity of that something being $3 flowers bought at Safeway, this bit of naturabilia doesn’t have to cost money. Go for a walk, or look in your own backyard, and I bet you’ll find at least one thing that would look charming nestled in your favorite piece of pottery. I pick up unusual seed pods on weekend hikes, and these berries came from a tree at my back door. When Fall has sprung the coop, I’ll look for artistically craggy tree branches to fill empty vases.

Best of all, no artificial packaging + zero transporation costs + compostable = carbon neutral!
