Saturn Peaches

The CSA box isn’t quite keeping me stocked in fruit (although the strawberries are wonderful) so I went trawling for fruit this weekend. What I came back with was a splurge (fresh blueberries) and an oddity – Saturn peaches. I’d never seen one before.

They’re short, squat little things, but they’re oh so sweet and because of their size, less messy to eat.

I read a quote recently about eating breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper. I thought that must mean eating simple, largely uncooked foods for dinner, and not too much of them, but when I assembled this, it didn’t feel much like a pauper’s meal.

The blueberries this year have been fabulous! Never heard of a saturn peach- glad they were yummy. I could live on good bread, cheese, fruit, and veggies. Love the photo!
